Waterfall Event Information
Address of the Facility:
Central Creek Park at 147 Old Moncks Corner Road, Goose Creek, SC 29445
About the Event:
The DUPR Waterfall features a new and innovative format that offers players four (4) competitive games all within a four-hour period. This revolutionary, amateur-only event will be like none other.
Format:
Brackets are formed with 16 teams maximum and after each round, you continue playing against a team with the same sequence of wins-losses. For example, after round three, teams who won their first 2 and lost the 3rd play and teams that lost the first and won the next 2 play. Your sequence matters even though all teams have 2 wins and 1 loss. Each team will play 4 matches, 8-12 games, the best 2 of 3 games to 11 wins by 2.The tournament directors reserve the right to reclassify brackets to round robins or run them as Waterfalls even if it doesn't fill up (with some byes). Waterfalls also don't "guarantee" 4 matches. We schedule 4 matches" but there is a chance it won't fill up, a player gets injured, or just doesn't show up to the tournament.
Open Gender/Age Events:
Participants can play with a partner of any age, gender, or level. The common denominator? Play will be competitive, level-based, and DUPR-neutral across demographics.
Maximum DUPR:
A Player's DUPR rating may not exceed their bracket limits (4.0 Brackets can not exceed 4.49 and a 3.5 Bracket can not exceed 3.99). DUPR Waterfall guarantees DUPR-neutral play; the tournament director will have final approval on tournament admission.
Brackets/Pods:
Four matches will be scheduled within a four-hour Brackets will be released 48 hours prior to the start of the tournament. Players sign up with or without a partner and DUPR will create brackets of 16 teams based on the Team Average DUPR. Pods that do not fill with 16 teams will be combined, if the levels are too far, the brackets will play in a Round Robin Format to be determined. Players can play more than 1 event and play with multiple partners over 2 days. You may not sign up for events that start at the same time. Players can also play up in
rating but cannot play down. More chances to win a platinum ticket with more partners.
